Picking back up on May 1. After dropping Denny at dock a mile from Fort Lauderdale airport, in strong wind, we got off dock and headed out on another total day 70 miles. Very urban big huge boats and houses. Spent night at Lighthouse Point Marina and had few beers.
May 2 night after 70 miles in 10 hours did night at Marriott Resort in Stuart. Last 2 days to May 2 a lot of low bridges we had to wait for opening on hour/half hour. Stuart is where Lake Okechobee canal from Ft. Meyers comes into Atlantic Intercoastal.
On Friday May 3 we went 70 miles to Indian River Beach Marina about 20 miles south of Cocoa Beach. Jim and I got an Uber at 100AM to go up to Cocoa Beach Pier to watch Spacex Falcon Nine launch supplies to Space Station at 248AM. Marina said would be 100 thou people up there but amazingly only 40 including us so 38 others. Glad we went but underwhelming but we could see First Stage seperation lots os circling smoke thought blew up. Also saw First Stage coming down and reentry burn and thought was going to land on us but then angled out more and landed on Still Love You barge 12 miles offshore and could see most way down. Some commercial long range camera guys with drone cameras also there. Had crazy Uber driver back who was Vietnam vet bush guy who had knees blown off and a son with IQ 387 nuclear physics Ph.D. at 21 he said. See pics below:
