Hello
May 7 we ran 74 miles through meandering unpopulated marsh flats. Very little to see. Ended up in St Simons Island Georgia but easy cruise day but some big inlets to cross and Sig waves. Lots of horse flies with one crewperson on swatter duty. We met a solo sailor taking his boat from FL to Maine and had beers dinner with him. He knew a guy there restoring a 70 foot long slim wooden cruiser named String of Pearls and we went aboard and all through it. Had many stars on it including Harrison Ford. Used to race JFK`s boat off Hyanisport in late 50's.
Today Wed May 8 we went 84 miles but had planned 74. Only saw 1 house in about 40 miles and few shacks. Crossed 4 inlets to ocean today almost out in ocean before channel turned north. Moderately wavy and strong wind. Crossing last one trying to get in marina at Delegal Creek historic but entrance in totally different place than chart and they did not advise that when we called earlier. Also turned out only 4 feet at low tide. And windy waves. Of course that grounded us softly but we backed out. Marina off radio and phone while but finally answered and said "oh yeah only 4 ft at low tide and little hump." So we went 10 miles more to 84 miles for day just south of Savanah area. We will be at Isle of Hope Marina tonight on fuel dock. Will explore area. Getting in 630PM.
